Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
A beautiful celebration of the birth of Christ through Scripture, music, worship, and candlelight.
Ash Wednesday Service
We begin our Lenten journey together with worship, prayer, reflection, and the imposition of ashes.
All Saints Sunday
Each year on All Saints Sunday, we remember those who have gone before us. This year, we will especially remember those who have passed since All Saints Sunday of 2025. As each person's name is spoken, a candle is lit in their memory, giving thanks for their life and the ways they touched ours.
Easter Celebration
We celebrate the joy and promise of the Resurrection during our Easter Sunday worship, filled with hope, music, and the good news of Christ's victory over death.
One Room Sunday School
Growing in Faith Together
Children of all ages learn and grow together in our One Room Sunday School through Bible lessons, music, crafts, and activities in a welcoming setting where every child is an important part of our church family.

Zion Youth
Fellowship with a Meaning
Our Zion Youth meet once a month and as opportunities arise for fellowship, fun, service, and activities that help our young people grow in faith and friendship.
One-Day Vacation Bible School
A Day of Faith, Fun & Adventure
Each summer, Zion welcomes children for a special One-Day Vacation Bible School filled with Bible stories, music, crafts, activities, fun, and fellowship.
With the help of our volunteers, children spend the day learning about God's love in ways that are fun, active, and memorable.
All children are welcome!
Bible Study
Growing Deeper in Faith
During Advent and Lent, Zion offers Bible study as an opportunity to explore Scripture, deepen our understanding of our faith, and prepare our hearts for the seasons of Christmas and Easter.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation as we learn, question, reflect, and grow together.
Faith In Action
Faith at Zion United Methodist Church of Shipley reaches beyond Sunday morning. Through our ministries, outreach, and fundraisers, we work together to care for our church family and our neighbors.
Neighbors in Need Emergency Fund
provides assistance when people in our community face unexpected needs.
Zion United Methodist Women
reach out throughout the year, including preparing Easter baskets for Shepherd's Staff and Christmas gift bags for our shut-ins.
Many Hands One Mission
Our church family also works side by side preparing food and holding special fundraisers that support the ministries and work of Zion.
Life Together at Zion
More Than Sunday Morning
Church life at Zion United Methodist Church of Shipley is about building relationships as well as growing in faith. Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to gather, share a meal, enjoy music, serve together, and simply enjoy one another's company.
Monthly Fellowship Meals
Once a month, we gather around the table for good food, conversation, laughter, and fellowship. There's always room for another chair!
Dinner on the Grounds
Each July, Zion welcomes the community for our special Dinner on the Grounds, featuring the Salem Bottom Bluegrass Band—an evening of food, music, fellowship, and summertime fun.
Come Sing With Us!
Our choir is getting ready to begin again, and we're waiting for you to join us! Whether you've sung in a choir for years or simply love music, there's a place for you.
A Home in the Community
Zion is pleased to serve as the meeting home of the Shipley 4-H Club, welcoming young people and families from our community.
The Bells of Zion
Installed in 2019, Zion's electronic carillon has become a familiar and beloved sound throughout our community. Depending on the wind and weather, the bells can sometimes be heard as far as three miles away, carrying their music well beyond the church grounds.
Affectionately known as “The Bells of Zion,” their music has become a special way Zion reaches beyond our walls and shares a sense of faith and community with our neighbors.
